A quick and frivolous return to French letters…
Marguerite Duras
“I believe that always, or almost always, in all childhoods and in all the lives that follow them, the mother represents madness. Our mothers always remain the strangest, craziest people we’ve ever met.” — Marguerite Duras
Marguerite Duras FOREVER.
I realised the other day that I’ve lived two and a half years since I gave away my copy of The Lover, and I thought it would be nice to have it in my possession again, so I went searching at the strand bookstore. But the shelf was too high and I was too way shy to ask any of the hot hipster employees for help. Scenes from the pathetic life of v. Anyhow. Marguerite Duras forever.
